First session of 19th Yunyan district people's congress convenes

The first session of the 19th people's congress of Yunyan district convened in Yunyan on Nov 4, presided over by Wang Guojian, its chairman.

Liu Renhao, deputy secretary of the CPC Yunyan district committee, delivered the government work report on behalf of the Yunyan district people's government. The report consists of two parts: a review of the work carried out over the past five years, and the development goals and key tasks for the next five years.

Liu said the district has boosted industrial growth and bolstered the real economy over the past five years, lifting high-quality development to a new level, elevating the quality of the city in general, and achieving new progress in green development.

The district has also prioritized people's well-being and reinforced public services, delivering an outstanding performance, he noted.

The next five years will be a critical period for Yunyan to help implement China's 15th Five-Year Plan. The district's gross domestic product is set to reach a new level, with its growth rate exceeding the provincial and municipal averages.

All economic indicators are expected to achieve improvement in quality and reasonable growth in quantity. General public budget revenue is set to grow at an annual rate of 2 percent, and the per capita disposable income of urban residents is set to rise in tandem with economic growth.
