Cultural tourism thrives in Yunyan

A-level tourist attractions in Yunyan district received 127,900 visitors during the New Year holiday from Jan 1 to 3, an increase of 25.31 percent year-on-year.

Taiping Road, Qianlingshan Park, and Xinyin 1950 Discovery were among the top draws. Tourism revenue from Minsheng Road jumped by 200 percent, and the cumulative revenue of the Cross Cinema was 656,000 yuan ($93,844), ranking first among Guiyang's cinemas.

A special climbing event to ring in 2026 was held in Qianlingshan Park on Dec 31, attracting more than 1,500 people. The park received 120,000 tourists during the holiday.

The Wenchang Pavilion hosted a New Year's carnival from Jan 1 to 3. The event presented a cultural feast that integrated tradition and modernity for citizens and tourists alike, featuring intangible cultural heritage experiences, an old-world parade, and a traditional market.

The district also held an assortment of cultural performances, such as magic, talk and circus shows, creating a strong festive atmosphere for all those assembled.
