In recent years, Yunyan district has transformed old urban spaces into new engines for demand growth through policy mechanisms, business restructuring, and cultural empowerment.

In 2020, the district launched the renovation of Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street, leading to Guiyang's first trendy cultural park and activating the city's new consumption momentum.

The transformation of Qingyun Market vividly portrays Guizhou's use of urban renewal to promote consumption, with the total sales revenue of Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street (including Qingyun Market) being 430 million yuan ($59.81 million) in the first seven months of this year, with a total passenger flow of 10.64 million.

Xinyin 1950 Themed Block opened in May last year and has become a new landmark for cultural tourism and leisure consumption in Guiyang. It features a 4D experience cultural center, two characteristic exhibition halls, and three themed spaces, integrating new functions, spaces, and environments into historical imprints and industrial relics.

Its highest daily passenger flow reached 128,000, with an average daily passenger flow of about 35,000 and a cumulative passenger flow exceeding 3 million. It has introduced more than 100 brands, forming a comprehensive commercial area covering leisure and entertainment, cultural experience, and daily consumption formats.

The district will continue to utilize urban spaces, striving to form a cycle of "space reconstruction, consumption upgrading, and livelihood improvement".
