The 2025 Guizhou Province Taekwondo Championship for Primary and Secondary School Students was held on Aug 10 at Wanda Plaza in Yunyan district, Guiyang. Over 60 representative teams presented a youth sports feast through impressive displays of speed and power.

"This is currently the most comprehensive youth taekwondo competition in Guizhou province," said Yue Song, secretary-general of the Guizhou Taekwondo Association.

The competition consists of seven age groups, from preschool to high school, with seven major events and more than 30 sub events, including physical fitness, taekwondo dance, and stunts.

It adheres to the principle of "campus priority", participating team members must be individual members of the Chinese Taekwondo Association registered in Guizhou province. A total of five traditional sports characteristic schools formed teams to participate, reflecting the deep integration of the competition and campus sports.

The event is not just a competition, it's also a showcase for the achievements Guizhou has made in integrating sports with education. A variety of interactive activities were featured, including Taekwondo culture exhibitions and youth sports lectures, aiming to enhance young people's interest and participation in sports.

In recent years, Guizhou province has built a taekwondo training system of "association + campus + club". Many primary and secondary schools in the province have included taekwondo into after-school services, with an average of over 30,000 students trained annually.
