Yunyan district, nicknamed Beautiful Yunyan, is located in the central area of Guiyang, with a total land area of 93.57 square kilometers. It has 17 subdistricts and one town with a total resident population of 1.18 million, giving it the smallest land area and highest population density of any administrative district in the province.
Yunyan district is the political, economic, cultural, scientific, technological and educational center of Guizhou province. It is the seat of the Standing Committee of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress, the People's Government of Guizhou Province and the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
The district has a subtropical humid monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 15.3 C. The weather is mild year-round, with no extreme cold or heat, the rainfall is abundant, and the seasons are distinct. The green coverage rate of the built-up area is 52.1 percent, and there is good air quality on 98.7 percent of days.
Located 10 kilometers away from Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport, 6 km away from the Guiyangbei Railway Station, and 13 km away from the Guiyangdong Railway Station, there are a total of 20 stations of Guiyang Metro Lines 1, 2, and 3 within Yunyan district.
