The 18th Qianlingshan speed climbing competition kicked off on June 22 at Qianlingshan Sports Park.

This year's competition has added a 20-kilometer challenge group for the first time, running parallel to the 6.1-kilometer Fastest Known Time speed climbing group, further enhancing the event's participation and competitiveness.

The 6.1-kilometer competition course connects areas such as Qianlingshan Mountain, Luchongguan Forest Park, and Baoli Yunshan Mountain Park. The course features an elevation change of 600 meters, testing both the speed and endurance of FKT speed climbers. The contestants in the 20-kilometer QLS challenge group are required to demonstrate their physical prowess and off-road skills over a longer course.

To further strengthen the link between the event and local consumption scenes, the organizer has partnered with consumer venues such as Minsheng Road Delicious Street, Taiping Road Qianshihui Snack Street, and Yuejie Cinema in Yunyan district to launch a "Sports + Food" carnival plan. By providing coupons and other event benefits, they aim to direct the sports flow into local consumption scenarios, forming a virtuous cycle model.

The competition, which has been held 17 times, has garnered a strong reputation over the years. Every competition attracts many domestic off-road athletes, becoming an important stage for them to exchange skills and challenge themselves.
