Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, maintained high-quality development progress in 2024, achieving a GDP of 109.27 billion yuan ($15.03 billion), a 5.4 percent increase.
Its national ranking among the top 100 districts for high-quality development rose to 73rd. Urban residents' per capita disposable income also reached 51,820 yuan, the highest in the city.

Guizhou Industrial Design City, established in Yunyan in 2024, attracted over 10 industrial design, branding, and product innovation enterprises.
The district's industrial economy saw strong growth, with the added value of industries above a designated size increasing by 6.6 percent.
The Yunyan Industrial Park was designated a provincial economic development zone, enhancing its role as an industrial hub. The district also added 21 new industrial design, testing, and software enterprises.
Digital economy advancements included 10 major projects in data centers, computing power networks, and 5G infrastructure. Cloud services revenue reached 2.5 billion yuan, growing 62 percent, while three new tax-generating buildings and two headquarters enterprises were established.
Urban renewal projects transformed old industrial sites, such as the 1950 Discovery, and revitalized city spaces. The district implemented 15 heritage preservation projects and completed 17 urban renovation initiatives covering over 2.8 million square meters.
With rising tourism, Yunyan's cultural appeal continues to grow. In 2024, the number of tourists in the district increased by 18.29 percent. For the fifth consecutive year, the district was selected as one of China's Top 100 Districts for Comprehensive Tourism Strength.
In 2025, Yunyan will strive to achieve greater economic and social development progress.
