Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, hosted a variety of festive activities across its sub-districts and towns, on Feb 12, bringing residents together to celebrate Lantern Festival.
In Yuxiulu sub-district, the Feishanjie and Yueyingjie communities jointly organized the "Tracing Lantern Festival" event, blending storytelling, lantern riddles, and a historical city walk. Children learned about Guiyang's ancient city gates and the festival's cultural significance through interactive experiences, receiving enthusiastic praise from the communities.

Residents and children of the Liuguangmen community came together for a hands-on tangyuan-making activity. Meanwhile, in the Nanya community of Yanwujie sub-district, volunteers decorated the area with lanterns and riddles, creating a lively scene of laughter.
The Shixilu community in Shixihe sub-district embraced the festive spirit by hanging red lanterns and organizing a tangyuan-making workshop, where skilled residents guided children in crafting the traditional treat. In addition, the Wujinlu community held a large-scale riddle-guessing competition, drawing enthusiastic participation with its diverse and educational challenges.
These celebrations preserved Chinese cultural traditions and fostered community bonding. They allowed residents to share joy and strengthened neighborhood ties in a festive atmosphere.
