Young medical talent sparkles in Yunyan

For over two decades, Zhu Yi has been dedicated to serving at the Yunyan District People's Hospital in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, leaving a profound impact on his patients.

As a renowned expert in the field of endocrinology and diabetes in Guizhou, Zhu plays a significant role in various committees and organizations within the health departments at the provincial and city levels.

Zhu has devoted his life to his beloved hometown of Yunyan. "I am a Yunyan native through and through. I was born in Yunyan, and it's where I attended kindergarten, primary school, middle school, university, and graduate school. Yunyan holds a special place in my heart, and I feel a strong sense of belonging to the Yunyan District People's Hospital," Zhu remarked.

"As a grassroots doctor, I believe that besides medical treatment, we can offer more heartfelt medical services and provide emotional comfort to patients. This requires healthcare workers to approach their work with empathy, as medicine should not only heal the body but also soothe the soul," Zhu emphasized.

Since 2019, Zhu has also actively participated in organizing numerous national and provincial academic conferences, contributing significantly to the high-quality development of medical standards across the province.

Moving forward, Zhu plans to lead his department in further enhancing the management of chronic disease patients both within and outside the hospital. Patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease, and stroke who have visited the Yunyan District People's Hospital will be enrolled in a chronic disease management system. They will receive long-term follow-up care focusing on managing blood sugar, blood pressure, and lipid levels, along with comprehensive guidance on medication, diet, and rehabilitation.
