A major pop-up lab erected in a sports stadium – the Shengdoushi nucleic acid testing laboratory in Yunyan district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – is operating smoothly, greatly easing the city's pressures to conduct widespread nucleic acid testing.

The lab can test up to 120,000 samples per day. It is currently the largest pop-up test facility in Guiyang.

The 123 medical workers in the lab are from medical teams from Central China's Hunan province, Zunyi and Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture in Guizhou and the Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Lu Xiulan, head of the lab, said that although a day's work is long and hard – and every medical worker needed to change protective clothing at least twice a day – the medical and nursing teams are in good spirits and are coping well.

Lu added that the team members were all unwavering in dedicating themselves to the anti-epidemic work.
