A new underground retail shopping strip called Xingyuemao – located in Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – opened its doors for business on April 29.

The new retailing strip occupies the underground space between Guiyang Metro Line 2's Penshuichi station and Zilin'an station, providing the public with a new choice for shopping, leisure and entertainment.

Guiyang Xingyuemao is an underground commercial brand. It's a bridgehead project involving the integrated development of the urban economy and local rail transit and is designed to accelerate the strategic layout of the city's southwest region.

The retail strip – which boasts a KFC outlet, pharmacy and cafes among others – is located in the core business district of Fengshuichi in Yan'an West Road, running a total length of about 600 meters.

It has 28 external entrances and exits, six direct metro station hall entrances and exits, six 24-hour cross-street passages and nine vertical elevators.

There are about 100 food stalls planned for its C area – mainly local specialties, combined with the commercial properties for the metro, covering all categories from breakfast to supper.

The street hopes to provide convenience for nearby residents, friends and office workers to eat while attracting tourists from all over the world.
