A major multi-story car park in Shahe Street – in Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – reportedly started construction on Oct 25.

With a total planned floor space of more than 30,000 square meters, the project is being funded and built by Guiyang Smart Parking Industry Investment Development Co, a subsidiary of Guiyang Communications Investment Development Group Co.

The parking lot is designed with two floors underground, 16 floors above ground and a building height of 81.5 meters, with 829 parking spaces.

The parking garage will be equipped with four vehicle-mounted elevators and eight elevators. The vehicle owner can intelligently recognize the vehicle from the first floor by entering the license plate number. The vehicle is then transported to the ground level by elevator.

Within a 500-meter walking radius, the project will mainly serve outpatients, the emergency department and some of the inpatient buildings of the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, as well as residential communities in Yunyan.

On completion, the project will not only alleviate the shortage of parking at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University, but will relieve current parking difficulties in Shahe Street, Baiying Lane and the surrounding communities.
