Yunyan urban renovation project underway

Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is renovating its shantytowns and old residential communities in an effort to improve its residential environment.

The district's Xichukou area has been selected as a pilot area for the urban renovation and upgrading project.

The first phase of the Xichukou area's old residential community renovation project, involving the area from Huansha Road to the Haimachong Interaction section of Touqiao Road, has already begun. 

Renovations mainly include improving architectural styles, roads, pipe networks, security and firefighting facilities, public facilities, the environment, public supporting infrastructure.

Buildings in the aforementioned area, including Building 303, Building 1 of Yinglie Road, and Building 3 of Yinglie Road, are currently being renovated and are expected to be completed on July 30.

All participating units have already removed municipal road guardrails and garden green belts along the area. 

Around 60 percent of roof and wall waterproofing, the removal of unauthorized roof facilities, old windows, walls, corridors, and electrical wiring, and overall environmental renovations have been completed thus far.
