Yunyan holds painting exhibition to mark Party's centenary

Yunyan district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- launched a calligraphy and painting exhibition at the Guizhou Provincial Library on June 16, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

A total of 124 works went display, including 24 by leading calligraphers and painters in the province.

The remaining 100 works were selected from submissions, with 48 winning awards.

Displays in the ongoing event have been themed around the founding of the People's Republic of China, reform and opening-up, poverty alleviation, history and culture, folk culture and the natural landscape.

The exhibition is scheduled to run for one month.
