Yunyan primary school raises fire safety awareness among students

The education bureau and the fire brigade in Yunyan district of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, carried out a fire emergency drill for teachers and students at Shengfu Road Primary School on Jan 5.

Before the drill, a representative from the fire brigade and school officials checked the school's fire hazards and protection preparedness and put forward suggestions. A publicity and education activity on fire safety knowledge was also held at the school.

After the drill, a fire brigade official gave a summary and some advice. Students also received textbooks on fire safety knowledge.

Such drills will also be carried out at other schools in Yunyan district, aiming to improve students' self-rescue ability, enhance teachers' and students' awareness of fire safety and help create a safe school environment.
