Yunyan enjoys consumption growth during 13th Five-Year Plan period

During the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) period, Yunyan district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, actively seized major opportunities for consumption upgrades and accelerated the revitalization of the commerce and trade industry.

The total retail sales of consumer goods in the commerce and trade industry in the district is expected to total 190.68 billion yuan ($28.61 billion) during the 13th Five-Year Plan, with an estimated average growth rate of 9.05 percent, according to information from Yunyan's commerce bureau.

Over the five-year period, Yunyan has completed the construction of seven city complexes, including Yitian Holiday Square, Dashanghai Wanda Square, Macalline Shopping Mall and Yinhai Yuanlong Square.

Meanwhile, another two new city complexes are still under construction. These are expected to start operating by the end of December.

By the end of this year, the total area of the nine city complexes in Yunyan district will reach 1.05 million square meters, and they will be able to accommodate up to 1,400 stores.

Meanwhile, Yunyan district has organized a series of business promotion activities to boost consumption.
