Yunyan soccer match with a twist takes place

A game of soccer with a twist – a five-a-side futsal match of Yunyan district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, ended on Nov 15, the final of a fierce one-week tournament.

Futsal is an internationally recognized soccer game, with smaller sides playing on a smaller pitch, with a smaller ball.

Kicking off on Nov 9, the tournament attracted the participation of 10 teams.

The Wudang district team won the championship, while the Baiyun district team won second place and Yunyan district team came in third.

The event aimed to enable more people to actively participate in the national fitness program and boost their sense of well-being.

The competition has enriched the cultural life of the public and boosted the physical fitness of locals, according to the leader of the Baiyun district team.

It is hoped that similar sports activities will be held in the future, he added.
