Yunyan woos top brains through new platforms

Yunyan district in Southwest China's Guiyang city from the start of the year, has focused on attracting top professionals by making greater efforts to build more platforms and bases -- as well as securing cooperation with industrial top players -- and has achieved decent results. 

Officials said that in July, the district developed five bases to nurture talents in the fields of medium and high-end commerce and trade, basic medical care, high skills, internationalization, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. 

Three studios were also erected to lure more top brains specializing in management, expertise and skills in a variety of fields -- including medium and high-end industry, big data, medical health, innovation and entrepreneurship and traditional craftsmanship. 

Officials said Yunyan is actively building all-round platforms for the development of talent.

They said it has adopted a "talent+project" model for young people with potential in innovation and development, who are selected from enterprises in big data, cultural creation, educational training and the healthcare service. 

On the other hand, the district is pulling out all the stops to set up innovation and entrepreneurship platforms by organizing companies, colleges and research institutes to establish industrial technology innovation strategic alliances. 

Current scientific and technological resources are also expected to be gathered to make the innovation and entrepreneurship platforms more professional, integrated and adapted to both the market and the internet. 

Currently, Yunyan is home to 15 technical training centers and has cultivated more than 500 people in versatile fields, such as big data, health care, tourism, as well as medium and high-end commerce and trade.
