Zhonghua community to enrich people with science and technology

The Zhonghua community science popularization block, located in the Yunyan district of Southwest China's Guiyang city, finished construction recently – in the wake of joint efforts made by Yunyan government organizations, including its science and technology bureau.

Facing the demands of neighboring residents and focusing on the teenagers, urban laborers and community dwellers, the Yunyan community block aims to popularize scientific and technological knowledge, to spread ideas and improve the quality of life of locals. 

A lecture team comprised of 50 volunteers and five activists has been established to give presentations on science and technology on different themes seasonally, considering different kinds of requirements. 

By taking advantage of the district's resources, officials said Zhonghua community has also spread the word about science and technology in versatile ways to residential buildings and households, bringing science and technology closer to daily life.
